We are deeply disturbed that the President of the United States made racist and white supremacist comments regarding immigrants from Africa and Haiti. Our nation’s strength is rooted in its global diversity and our nation’s leaders should celebrate – and not demonize – immigrants.

Today, Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC and Asian Americans Advancing Justice | Chicago, with pro bono counsel McDermott Will & Emery LLP, filed an amicus brief in support of cities with pro-immigrant policies (also known as Sanctuary or Trust cities) and who work toward protecting immigrants from being victimized by crime and over-reaching involvement from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).

Advancing Justice Condemns Termination of TPS for Nearly 200,000 Salvadorans

The decision to terminate the TPS designation for nearly 200,000 Salvadoran immigrants who have lived in America for decades is another gross misuse of power from this administration. Ending temporary status and work authorization for Salvadorans turns more than 190,000 U.S. residents into undocumented immigrants and has the potential to upend the lives of their American-born children.
