Midwest Organizing Manager
Andrea “Chuey” Chu is the Midwest Organizing Manager at Asian Americans Advancing Justice | Chicago, where she builds leadership of Asian Americans in Chicago through the A Just Chi program and supports organizations throughout the Midwest on building power in Asian American communities. As a Taiwanese American born and raised in Ohio, she is committed to working with Asian American communities across the region toward racial justice.
Chuey was previously worked as an organizer fighting for clean air and water and has experience organizing at local, state, and federal levels. She founded Chicago Asian Americans for Environmental Justice, the only Asian American organization in the Midwest focused on climate and environmental issues. She is also the Editor-in-Chief of Chrysanthemum: Voices of the Taiwanese Diaspora, an anthology of stories, essays, poetry, and art by creators of Taiwanese heritage. Chuey is a lover of breakfast, Iron Goddess tea, and a good science fiction novel.
