On March 22, AAI joined its community partners and the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights to participate in a civil disobedience action and a vigil protesting the breaking up of immigrant families. News outlets reported recently that Senators were considering a major reduction in family visas as part of a compromise on reforming the current system. AAI Executive Director Tuyet Le was on the front lines, and part of the group that included elected officials and community leaders calling on Senator Kirk to stand up for families.
