Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Chicago FAQs

Welcome to our new name and look! In 2010, the Asian American Institute (AAI) and its partners –the Asian American Justice Center (AAJC), the Asian Law Caucus (ALC) and the Asian Pacific American Legal Center (APALC)—announced our affiliation under one shared name in order to build a more powerful and unified social justice voice for the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community. Over the course of the past few years, we have worked hard to lay a strong foundation for this partnership.

Today, we are pleased to announce that AAI has officially transitioned to our new name: Asian Americans Advancing Justice | Chicago. Our shared name will enable us to continue to focus on the areas in which we have expertise and credibility as individual affiliates while benefiting from our aggregate experience in in legal services, public policy, advocacy, litigation, leadership development, research, community organizing and strategic communications.

We shared our new name with friends and supporters at our annual Milestone Awards Benefit on April 18, and will continue to roll out a series of communications through newsletters, our website and social media to keep you informed of what this name change means for you. We also anticipate launching joint communications about this name change with our affiliates in June when they complete their brand transitions.
