Ricky Gandhi

Ricky is the Political Director of Advancing Justice | Chicago. His political experience includes working as an economist for the Joint Economic Committee in the US Congress under Senator Martin Heinrich and later Representative Carolyn Maloney. There he worked on a wide range of issues, including rural access to broadband and healthcare, tax reform, prescription drug reform, gun control, and more.

He also served as Vice-President of Programs for Young Professionals in International Affairs in Washington DC, where he hosted discussion groups, networking events, and assisted in job searches for aspiring foreign policy professionals.

Ricky is thrilled to work supporting our organizing team, performing policy research, and co-create campaign strategy around major issues affecting our community. “I wanted to work for a political organization that not only shared my values, but had a track record of success,” he says. “The prospect of working with legislators, organizations, and community members to enact change is the exact type of work I love doing and am happy to get back into it.”
